Material

Wood

We use mainly 5 types of wood and none of these woods are prohibited and none of these types of woods stolen from any rain forests. We are making considerable contributions to organizations who help protecting rainforest. We believe using endangered trees and cutting down our precious rainforest is a serious criminal offence. We have our own plantations where environmentally sustainable trees are produced for our organic body jewelry line. We always give back to what we take. In our continues effort to save the world we have a 2 for 1 policy in which we guarantee that we plant 2 trees back for every tree we take from our plantation. In this way we make our contribution to a more environment friendly future and help decreasing harm done by  green house gasses. We believe in preserving this wonderful world we are living in. (every year we try to invest parts of our profit in replanting 1000’s of trees in southern Thailand)
Below is a list with descriptions for the different types of woods we use.

Sono wood.

Our favourite wood you will find is the wood we use the most for our organic piercing and jewelry. We have 3 different versions, one is the very delicate chocolate brown Javanese sono, we have the exquisite black Malaysian sono, and then we have the collared black sono which is a version of Javanese sono that we have collared black to get a delightful glossy black finishing that some products needs.
Sono wood is from the same family as the very famous ebony-wood. It has the same strengths and durability, the reason why we are using sono wood instead of ebony is that sono wood is a fast growing wood that is being planted by local famers in both java and Malaysia. Ebony as we all know if a very slow growing tree and 90% of all ebony coming out from south east Asia is stolen from the rapidly disappearing rain forests and has been called a endangered spices by many western countries and there for been prohibited.

Iron wood.

Iron wood gets its name from its superior strength and durability. Iron wood is a naturally black wood. This is a wood which is a hard wood to come by as farmers don’t like planting it as it takes many years for it to grow to maturate. We do have our own small plantation of iron wood so we are able to supply a limited selection of items made from iron wood.

Palm wood.

Palm wood is a very beautifully textured wood with spots and grains travelling thought the wood. This is a wood that we can happily use as it is a very common palm tree that grows all over south East Asia and it grows at an astonishing speed.

Coco wood.

Coco wood comes from the coco-nut palm tree. It I very similar to the palm wood just lighter in colour. We buy this wood from coco nut plantations. The plantations are selling of trees that have gotten to old to have any coconuts , the trees that are to old will be cut down to make space for a new coco-nut palm trees.

Teak

Our teak comes from the northern part of Thailand where famers have been planting teak trees for many years under government supervision. 10 years ago the government of Thailand promoted farmers to grow teak in the northern part of Thailand , now 10 years later the farmers are getting no support from the government any more and have hardly any way of selling the teak trees that they were told to grow . So we try our best to help in anyway we can .Note this is not golden teak.

Metal.

316L Surgical steel.

Many of our products have 316L Surgical steel posts or hooks that go thought the ear. Surgical steel is accepted around the world as the best material to use for any piercings and is completely legal around the world.

Silver

All over products that are made with silver have been made using only 92.5 sterling silver.

Shells and coral

Shell

All shells that we are using are dead shells that have been watched up on beaches and then collected by fishermen and sold on local markets.

Coral

The coral we use is a resin based product. This is eco-friendly way of selling coral, the red or any other collared resin is injected in to the dead coral that was picked up form the beach no live coral was hurt in the process of making this item. The red colour comes from the resin injected in to dead coral.

Horn and Bone

For our buffalo and horn products we ensure that no animal is ever killed or harmed just for our organic jewelry. All our buffalo horn comes from remote areas on the island of Sulawesi where locals still in ways of ancient tradition eat buffalo meat as part of their daily food. Under strict supervision of local wildlife and animal protective organisations we buy the bone and horn from communities that otherwise have no use for it

Mirage collection@ (Fake piercing)

Organic jewelry Wholesale has created a completely unique line of Mirage@ products known as Fake plugs and Fake Expanders. It's an optical illusion product that makes us look like we have expanded ears. In reality the only thing we need is a tiny hole to fit a small pin. This highly successful product is now available on our website.

The essential part of the plug is a 0.8mm or 1.2mm 316L surgical steel bar that goes through the ear. The Plug and Expander is fitted on both side of the tiny bar. We have 3 different systems,

  1. Mirage Easy Screw system
Push the front piece bar through the ear hole and screw the back part on from behind the ear.
  2. Mirage Easy Push system
Push the front piece bar through the ear hole and push it into the secure surgical steel pin holder in the back part from behind the ear.
  3. Mirage Easy Push with Safety Screw on Ball system
Push the front piece bar through the ear hole. Then push it through the hole of the back part and screw on the safety ball to the threaded pin at the back of the ear to ensure extra comfort and safety.
