Horn and Bone

We ensure that no animal is ever killed or harmed just for our organic jewelry. All our buffalo horn and bone comes from remote areas on the island of Sulawesi and Sumatra where locals still in ways of ancient tradition eat buffalo meat as part of their daily food. Under strict supervision of local wildlife and animal protective organizations we buy the bone and horn from communities that otherwise have no use for it and the bones and horns are just a bi-product from their eating habits.

Our thoughts: The part of the bone being used is the lower leg bone which is ideal for making carvings. With the correct process of sanding and polishing the bone jewelry comes out creamy white and shiny. We take great care not to use and bone with discoloration so that each piece is perfectly white…

Our thoughts: Buffalo horn is a very nice material for most kinds of body piercing, the beautiful shiny black color, extreme smoothness plus its flexibility makes it ideal for carvings. Though not as popular as it used to be, in the early days we basically made all our organic body piercing from buffalo horn, it is still has a very unique look and feel that cannot be matched by plastic and other synthetic copies.
